Everywhere you go online is filled with so much busy activity, churning out megabytes of data designed to grasp your attention. After spending a few years learning web work, and how to use various techniques and technologies, I find myself yearning for simplicity. So when the prospect of moving the site to a new ISP came up I decided to strive to adopt a simpler technical approach to the work.
The first aspect that came to mind was how links should be used. Web folks use all kinds of link strategies to manage the attention of their visitors. Common among them is the use of links that open in new windows as a way to control what visitors can view. I decided that trying to control people this way is crazy. If my work has merit then people will look at it, and if not then all the little tricks I can dream up won't keep them from simply clicking the "home" button.
